Three Entertainment, Sports & Media Partners Again Named Power Lawyers
Latham partners Joseph Calabrese, Kenneth Deutsch, and Marvin Putnam have been named 2020 Power Lawyers by The Hollywood Reporter in the entertainment industry publication's 14th annual list of lawyers working on some of the industry's biggest issues.
Calabrese and Deutsch are transactional partners and Putnam is a litigation and trial partner in the global Entertainment, Sports & Media (ESM) Practice. Each have been named multiple times to the annual Power Lawyers list.
Calabrese, Global Chair of the ESM Practice, was highlighted by THR in connection with his continued work on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's TV deal for the Golden Globes with NBC through 2026 as well as his role advising the International Olympic Committee in connection with various media and host city agreements, including for LA 28.
Deutsch was profiled for his work representing MGM, as well as his representation of New Republic Pictures in high-profile co-financing deals with Amblin for the Oscar-nominated 1917 and with Paramount for Elton John biopic Rocketman.
Putnam, Chair of the firm's Litigation & Trial Practice in Los Angeles, was profiled as a “go-to attorney" for studios and networks in respect to Hollywood #MeToo disputes as well as for his high-profile work on behalf of the Association of Talent Agents in its packaging fees battle with the WGA.
