Firm Joins World Business Council for Sustainable Development

February 3, 2020
CEO-led organization is helping accelerate the transition to a sustainable world.

Latham & Watkins is excited to announce the firm has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Founded in 1995, this global, CEO-led organization seeks to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world by making sustainable business more successful. Its members come from all business sectors and economies.

As a global law firm, Latham approaches its commitment to sustainability in multiple ways, including conscious operations, providing ESG counsel to clients, and offering pro bono legal services to sustainability-focused organizations.

Paul Davies, Global Co-Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Sustainability Committee and a leader in the firm’s ESG Practice, said: “Over the past few years, we have witnessed the way in which a surge of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data has driven sustainability reporting and analysis, fostering a dynamic business environment for companies, supply chains, and investors. As organizations continue to seek sustainable solutions for business challenges, we are excited to partner with WBCSD and its members.”

In addition to joining the WBCSD, Latham will publish its Book of Jargon® — Environmental, Social, and Governance, a must-have book for legal and corporate professionals explaining more than 1,000 key business and legal terms, in April 2020. Book of Jargon® includes a preface from Rodney Irwin, Managing Director of WBCSD’s Redefining Value and Education Programs.
