New York Partner Named OUTstanding Ally

Created by Yahoo Finance’s OUTstanding campaign, the LGBT+ Role Model Lists spotlight work being done across the business world by professionals “who are helping to make the workplace a more welcoming place.” New York partner Veronica Relea was recognized as one of “50 Ally Executives,” for her efforts to drive “positive change in the office” and support LGBTQ+ colleagues.

Relea was singled out for her longstanding commitment to increasing diversity and inclusion at the firm, since joining upon graduating from Harvard Law School. In 2006, she helped found Latham’s Multicultural Promotion & Attainment Coalition (MPAC), a grassroots associate-driven initiative that addresses issues of diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion, and has spread to 14 offices around the globe. She serves on the Diversity Leadership Committee and as a mentor to the firm’s LGBTQ+ Lawyers Group and Hispanic/Latin American Lawyers Group. Her pro bono and community service work also demonstrate her dedication to diversity and inclusion; she helps fundraise for New York City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center and supports diversity-led NYC theater productions.
