Latham Advises on Equity and Project Finance Deals of the Year

Latham & Watkins has been recognized by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) for advising on two transactions named Deals of the Year at the 2018 IFLR Americas Awards, including:

• Equity Deal of the Year – Latham advised Vista Oil & Gas, S.A.B. de C.V. (Vista), a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) focused on oil and gas exploration and production (E&P), in its US$650 million global initial public offering (IPO), the first SPAC IPO in Latin America and the first oil and gas E&P-focused company to list in Mexico. The deal was also named Financing Innovation of the Year by LatinFinance. 
• Project Finance Deal of the Year – Latham represented the sponsor in connection with its US$2.3 billion project financing for the development of the AES Southland Energy Project, a portfolio of two gas-fired power plants totaling 1244-MW, and two battery-energy storage systems totaling 110-MW, in Arizona and California. The deal was also named North American Power Deal of the Year by Project Finance International (PFI).

The annual IFLR Americas Awards recognize the most innovative cross-border Americas transactions and the teams and firms that advised on them.
