DC Appleseed
Rick Bress honored as a “D.C. Champion” for working to make the nation’s capital a better place to live and work.

DC Appleseed named Supreme Court & Appellate partner Rick Bress a “D.C. Champion” at its annual reception for his work to advance the cause of democracy in Washington, D.C. A longstanding pro bono client of Bress and Latham, DC Appleseed harnesses the District’s best law, accounting, and consulting firms to help analyze, implement and where necessary, litigate matters. Bress has led Latham teams working with DC Appleseed on matters advancing and defending measures to improve the District’s government and increase its political autonomy. The District now has an independent, elected Attorney General and greater budget autonomy due in part to those efforts.

Bress focuses his practice on appellate and Supreme Court litigation as well as strategic planning and litigation of high-stakes challenges to federal and state actions. In addition to his practice, Bress is the Global Chair of the firm’s Ethics Committee and he previously served as a member of Latham’s Executive Committee.
