Firm Takes Home Two GCR Matter of the Year Trophies

Leading antitrust publication awards Latham’s innovative work in merger control and cartel defense.

Latham’s top-tier Antitrust & Competition Practice earned two major honors at the Global Competition Review seventh annual GCR Awards ceremony, which celebrates the year’s most impactful, high-profile matters as voted on by industry peers around the world.

For the successful representation of Microsoft in their US$26.2 billion acquisition of LinkedIn before the European Commission, a transatlantic Latham team received the Merger Control Matter of the Year – Europe award.

For creative, strategic and innovative litigation on behalf of a defendant in a private action for cartel damages, another cross-border team of Latham litigators took home the 2017 GCR Award for Litigation of the year – Cartel defence. The firm was honored for securing favorable settlements for its client in several civil class actions related to the global investigations into alleged price fixing within the auto parts industry.
