Bill Finnegan and John Sachs recognized for their impact on energy and environmental law.

The National Law Journal (NLJ) has named Houston partner Bill Finnegan and Washington, D.C. partner John Sachs to its second annual “Energy and Environmental Trailblazers” list featuring individuals “who continue to make their mark in various aspects of legal work in the areas of energy and environmental law.”

Finnegan, whose practice covers a broad range of corporate and securities deals, was recognized for having “developed some novel transactions, particularly around master limited partnerships.” NLJ noted that “these deals often involve many aspects, including federal regulations, real estate and environmental work, along with the full range of issues that face fully functioning companies, such as employee benefits.”

Sachs, a member and former global Chair of the firm’s Project Development & Finance Practice, was recognized for his key role in precedent-setting energy projects. His notable work includes advising on the first private power program in Pakistan and then creating similar programs in other countries, and advising on the development and financing ‎of the first offshore wind farm to reach financial close in the United States.
