Latham recognized for “using innovation to work more efficiently, assist clients better and remain ahead of its competitors.”

Latham & Watkins was among 10 firms from across the Asia-Pacific region that were named to Asian Legal Business’ inaugural “Innovation List.” According to the publication, the list honored firms that “are using innovation to work more efficiently, assist clients better and remain ahead of their competitors.”

Asian Legal Business noted that “the project finance space [was] where Latham really excelled,” highlighting its groundbreaking work on the US$1.2 billion financing of the San Buenaventura power project in the Philippines; the US$191 million financing of the Semangka Hydroelectric Power Project in Indonesia; and various privatizations and corporatizations of Myanmar government-owned business.

The publication also cited Latham’s role in cutting-edge capital markets and M&A matters. These efforts included advising on the IPOs of GF Securities and Hong Kong Broadband Network listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange; the establishment of Thai Oil Public Company Limited’s US$1 billion Global MTN programme; and the US$1.45 billion sale of Indonesia-based PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk’s majority stake in PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk to Singapore’s United Fiber System Limited.
