Citing key global capabilities and notable work for industry-leading clients, Law360 has named the Antitrust & Competition practice of Latham & Watkins as “Competition Group of the Year” for 2013.

Latham attorneys “played critical roles in clearing major mergers” during the past year, according to Law360, and “also demonstrated its core strengths in litigation… as well as in global cartel investigations.” Notable matters in the global communications and transportation sectors were cited by Law360 as examples of the firm’s market-leading work in 2013.

“We have the depth and breadth in our practice to handle traditional antitrust litigation, merger clearance matters and cartel investigation work, often on a massive scale,” said Al Pfeiffer Jr., global co-chair of Latham’s Antitrust & Competition Practice Group.

Law360 also cited Latham’s client roster across business sectors such as technology and media/entertainment, noting that the ”list is only likely to grow longer as the competition team continues to showcase its management and coordination skills in massive deals and extensive cartel matters, as well as its signature prowess in the courtroom.”
