Euromoney Legal Media Group held its second annual Americas Women in Business Law awards ceremony in New York.  Latham & Watkins LLP received the award for best international firm for pro bono.  “In 2012 the firm provided more than 176,000 hours of pro bono legal services. More than 200 Latham attorneys provided in excess of 11,000 hours of pro bono support to over 200 victims of domestic violence.” Latham’s other pro bono activities were mentioned during the award ceremony.

  • New York partner Dana Fleischman was acknowledged as the “best in financial regulation.”  “The financial regulation winner is a leading expert on the FINRA corporate finance rules. She continues to advise key parties on the so-called Global Research Analyst Settlement.”
  • Washington D.C. partner Miriam Fisher was named best in tax dispute resolution and a ‘leading light’ in tax controversy.
  • Chicago partner Caroline Reckler was recognized as a rising star in finance, the first time for this category.

The awards ceremony was conceived to celebrate the “achievements of women leading in the legal sector across America.” Latham strives to provide meaningful outlets for women, creating initiatives like Women Enriching Business (WEB) to address the business challenges and opportunities unique to women lawyers.
