Female attorneys honored for contributing to client successes and firm leadership.

Three Latham & Watkins partners in California have been recognized for their professional contributions by the Daily Journal. Laura Godfrey, an Environmental, Land & Resources partner in the San Diego office, Yi-Chin Ho, a Litigation partner in the Los Angeles office, and Karen Silverman, a Litigation partner and managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office, were selected as 2013 “Top Women Lawyers in California.” According to the Daily Journal, the honorees have demonstrated “excellent lawyering and leadership skills,” particularly through their contributions to the success of their clients and within the legal community. The publication noted Godfrey’s experience navigating complex regulatory challenges in environmental and energy matters, Ho’s extensive cross-border portfolio and unique practice counseling clients in Taiwan and China, and Silverman’s highly-regarded antitrust practice in regard to litigation and merger clearance matters.

For Silverman, the 2013 feature marks the sixth consecutive time she has been awarded this designation. The honor also follows her inclusion in the San Francisco Business Times’ 2013 list of “The Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business,” an accolade given to “outstanding corporate and community leaders.”

“Latham & Watkins congratulates our colleagues on this well-deserved recognition. We know their clients value the hard work, skills and innovative approaches that these attorneys bring to bear on a daily basis, and our firm is highly focused on supporting such success among our female attorneys through training, mentoring and initiatives, such as our Women Enriching Business (WEB) program that helps foster excellence in client service and leadership,” said Ora Fisher, Co-Chair of Latham & Watkins’ Diversity Committee and a firm Vice Chair.
