Bevash presented with special honor for contribution to the development of the legal practice in the region.

Joseph Bevash, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ Tokyo office, was presented with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” at the 2011 Chambers Asia Pacific Awards. Bevash is the first recipient of this "Special Award" by Chambers & Partners, recognizing individual contribution to the development of the legal practice in the region.

Chambers called Bevash “one of the most highly-acclaimed project finance lawyers in the Asia-Pacific region” and reported industry leaders' praise for his “mastery of the commercial concerns and risks faced by clients” and "level of sophistication and level of detail [that are] unmatched by anyone.”

Bevash has extensive experience representing lenders, underwriters, and owner/developers in connection with a wide variety of international projects, including many of the region’s landmark power, gas and petrochemical projects in Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Laos, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. He recently led cross-border Latham teams in the award-winning US$1.215 billion Paiton 3 power project in Indonesia and the US$2.97 billion Hongsa Mine-Mouth power project in Laos.
