Steinberg, Flagel, Dunlavey and Bauer called "brilliant people [who] facilitate creative ideas so that they blossom into real solutions."

Four Latham & Watkins litigators have been selected as “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” in California for 2011 by the Daily Journal. The partners include Bob Steinberg and Mark Flagel in Los Angeles, Dean Dunlavey in Orange County and Steven Bauer in San Francisco. The legal newspaper characterized the top IP litigators as “brilliant people [who] facilitate creative ideas so that they blossom into real solutions.”

Steinberg, Global Co-Chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, was particularly cited for his representation of the Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust in a dispute with a defendant who claimed to possess long-lost negatives created by the famous nature photographer – which the Trust maintained were not authentic as a settlement was reached.

Flagel and Dunlavey played integral roles in complex, decade-long patent infringement disputes related to lighting technologies for laptop computer screens in which their client, Monolithic Power Systems, repeatedly prevailed against O2 Micro.

Bauer led a Latham litigation team that secured a trial victory for client Marvell Semiconductors in a high-profile trade secrets case against rival Jasmine Networks, which the Daily Journal previously named the “Top Defense Verdict” of 2010.
