Michael P. Waks is an associate in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins. Mr. Waks is a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department and focuses his practice on securities and complex commercial litigation.
Mr. Waks represents public and private companies, boards of directors, financial institutions, and private equity firms in a wide range of high-stakes, complex commercial and class action litigation. He has represented clients in both state and federal courts, as well as in international arbitration. Mr. Waks has extensive experience in all phases of civil litigation, including at trial.
Additionally, Mr. Waks advises corporate clients and boards of directors on corporate governance and M&A-related issues.
In representing public and private companies, he has worked with clients in an array of industries, including banking, aviation, real estate, pharmaceuticals, energy, food and beverage, financial services, and healthcare.
Mr. Waks maintains an active pro bono practice and has represented individual clients and national organizations in matters involving immigration, domestic violence, voting rights and election protection, homelessness, and education.
Mr. Waks served as a law clerk to Judge John A. Mendez of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California.
