James Mac Sweeney is an associate in the Corporate Department of the London office of Latham & Watkins, and a member of the Capital Markets Practice.

Mr. Mac Sweeney represents investment banks, private equity firms, and corporations in public and private equity and debt offerings, with a particular emphasis on issuances of high yield debt securities.

Mr. Mac Sweeney has represented:

  • EnQuest plc, an upstream oil and gas company focused on North Sea and Malaysian production, in connection with its offering of US$305 million senior notes;
  • Lowell Group, a leading provider of credit management services specializing in credit management and data analytics, in connection with over £1.6 billion senior secured notes;
  • Lowell Group in connection with its private placement of over £100 million of senior secured notes;
  • Intrum AB in its offering of €800 million of senior notes due 2026 and its offering of €850 million senior notes due 2027
  • Tullow Oil plc in connection with the tender offer of a total aggregate principal amount of US$166.5 million of its senior notes due 2025;
  • The initial purchasers on the €400 million Senior Secured Notes and €250 million Senior Secured Floating Rate Notes of Bite Group, a Lithuanian telecommunications and media company
  • The initial purchasers in connection with financing supporting the take private by KIRKBI, Blackstone, and CPPIB of Merlin Entertainment
