Realty Income Corporation Advised in $2.95 Billion Acquisition of American Realty Capital Trust

Merger creates the 18th largest Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in the United States.

 Realty Income Corporation, the Monthly Dividend Company, and American Realty Capital Trust, Inc. have announced a definitive merger agreement under which Realty Income will acquire all of the outstanding shares of American Realty Capital Trust in a transaction valued at approximately $2.95 billion. Latham & Watkins LLP advised Realty Income in the transaction with a corporate team led by partners William Cernius in Orange County, CA (Costa Mesa) and Paul Tosetti in Los Angeles, with partner Julian Kleindorfer and associate David Wheeler in Los Angeles, and associates Libby Stockstill, Michael Young, Chase Leavitt, John Raney, Mathew Davis-Ratner and Jeffrey Holgate in Orange County.
