Latham & Watkins advises Elsan in its acquisition of Groupe C2S
Elsan, a key player in the French healthcare sector, present in all areas of hospitalization, has entered into exclusive negotiations with EURAZEO Patrimoine to acquire the Groupe C2S.
With the support of EURAZEO Patrimoine and under the direction of Jean Rigondet, the Groupe C2S, a major player in private hospitalization, has experienced remarkable development in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions over the last 3 years. Today, it has 17 health establishments, offering recognized medical quality and a first-rate healthcare offer.
This merger would create France's leading player in private hospitalization for short stays in medicine, surgery and obstetrics, with a presence in all regions.
Building on their shared culture of medical excellence and innovation, the planned merger between ELSAN and C2S would strengthen and modernize the healthcare offering for all French citizens, in all regions.
At a time when France is still facing a second wave of COVID-19, this strengthening would help to further solidify the national healthcare system, in cooperation with all public and private players.
Latham & Watkins represents Elsan in the transaction with a Paris team led by partners Thomas Forschbach and Alexander Crosthwaite with Simon Lange and Ornella Capillon on corporate aspects.
