Worldline acquisition of Six Payment Services recognised as Deal of the Year by the Club des Trente

The strategic partnership between Worldline and Six Payment Services has created the leading and largest European payments provider.

Late last year, Worldline, the European leader in payments and transactional services industry has acquired SIX Payment Serives (SPS), the payment services division of SIX, for a consideration of  €2,303 million. This strategic partnership created the leading and largest European payments provider.This transaction has recently been recognised as M&A Deal of the year by the Club des Trente.

Worldline was advised by an in-house team led by Alexandre Menais (Group Executive Vice President in charge of M&A, Strategy and Development, Legal, Compliance and Contract Management), Damien Catoir (Associate Group General Counsel Global Strategic Project & Corporate), Anne-Sophie Poirier (Head of Legal M&A) and Charles-Henri de Taffin de Tilques (General Counsel of Worldline) and by Latham & Watkins, with a Paris team led by partner Pierre-Louis Cléro, with the assistance of partner Alexander Crosthwaite, counsel  Semih Bayar Eren, and associates Sharon Mitz, François Blanchet and Aymerick Fradin on corporate aspects, partner Xavier Renard with the assistance of Yann Auregan on tax aspects, and partner Jacques-Philippe Gunther with the assistance of Mathilde Saltiel on antitrust aspects of the transaction. Advice was also provided by the firm on corporate matters by London partner Nick Cline, assisted by Emily Cridland.
