Stewart Robinson is an associate in the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins’ London office, and is a member of the firm’s Entertainment, Sports & Media Practice.

Mr. Robinson advises clients in the entertainment, sports, and media sector on corporate and financing transactions, ranging from acting on mergers and acquisitions and providing general corporate advice to representing financial institutions on financing aspects. He also advises studios, financiers, and independent producers and distributors of audiovisual content, including on the creation and financing of their content. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Robinson trained and qualified at a leading US law firm where he gained experience in entertainment and media, corporate, and funds transactions.

Mr. Robinson's experience includes advising:

  • The consortium led by Todd Boehly, chairman and CEO of Eldridge, and Clearlake Capital Group, on its acquisition of Chelsea Football Club
  • Silver Lake on its investment in the New Zealand All Blacks, the world’s most iconic rugby brand
  • Silver Lake on its investment in the Ambassador Theatre Group
  • DAZN, the global sports entertainment platform, in its attempt to acquire BT Sport
  • IMG on the acquisition of Mutua Madrid Open
  • Silver Lake on its acquisition of a 33% stake in the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), which operates the A-League and other leagues
  • TeamViewer on its official partnership with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team and Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team
  • TeamViewer on its five-year agreement to become Manchester United's new principal shirt sponsor
  • Cohen Media Group in connection with the acquisition of Curzon Cinemas, composed of the cinema business, Artificial Eye distribution arm, and Curzon Home Cinema streaming platform
  • Netflix on the acquisition of Millarworld, the comic book company founded by Mark Millar, creator of a number of iconic characters and stories including Kick-Ass, Kingsman, and Old Man Logan, representing the first ever acquisition by Netflix    
  • Beyoncé and Parkwood Entertainment in connection with a cross-border corporate acquisition and apparel license
  • A joint venture controlled by Raven Capital Management LLC on its acquisition of David Ian Productions, the world leading musical theater producer
  • The General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia in relation to a live events and broadcast rights agreement with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
  • Anonymous Content in connection with a joint venture with two leading talent agencies called Chapter One Pictures
  • Siemens AG on the combination of its mobility business in a merger of equals with Alstom SA
  • An Asian investor in connection with its investment in a major music and audio platform
  • Top tier commercial and investment banks in connection with providing borrowing base credit facilities to their clients in the film and television sector, using film and television rights and receivables as collateral
  • JP Morgan on the expansion of a credit facility to cover the UK assets of a major digital media company
  • The Ink Factory on its feature film Our Kind of Traitor and on its collaboration with the author John le Carré*
