Sophia Popovic is an associate in the Chicago office of Latham & Watkins.

Ms. Popovic represents borrowers and lenders in all types of real estate finance transactions, including mortgage and construction loans. She also counsels clients in the process of purchasing, selling, and leasing commercial properties located throughout the United States.

She regularly advises clients regarding a broad range of complex commercial real estate assets, including hotels, office buildings, multifamily properties, industrial facilities, mixed-use development, retail centers, senior housing and health care facilities, student housing, co-living, and vacant land.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Popovic was an associate in the real estate department of the Chicago office of another international law firm.

During law school, Ms. Popovic was the deputy editor-in-chief of the Northwestern University Law Review. She also externed for Judge Marvin Aspen with the Northern District of Illinois.

Ms. Popovic is a member of the Chicago chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Executive Women (CREW) Network, an organization whose mission is to positively impact the commercial real estate industry by advancing the power and success of women.
