Razi Safi is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins.

Mr. Safi represents public and private companies in patent ligation matters pending before district courts, the International Trade Commission, and the Patent Trials and Appeals Board. His experience includes matters covering a range of technologies, including semiconductors, medical devices, robotics, battery systems, and imaging systems.

Mr. Safi maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals seeking asylum in both asylum offices and immigration courts.

Before attending law school, Mr. Safi was an engineer at Boeing, performing structural analysis on various commercial and military aircraft.

Mr. Safi attended Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Economics with a minor in Aerospace Engineering and an MS in Mechanical Engineering. While in graduate school, Mr. Safi’s coursework focused on Materials Science and his research focused on computational fluid dynamics. He published papers and presented research on optimization of enhanced oil recovery systems using computational fluid dynamics.
