Michael Huggins litigates and advises clients across industries on complex and high-value insurance coverage matters. Mr. Huggins has a broad range of experience in commercial lines of insurance, including cyber and privacy, commercial general liability, commercial property and business interruption, directors and officers liability, and professional liability insurance policies. In addition to litigating challenging insurance cases in state and federal trial courts nationally, Mr. Huggins has worked on high-profile appeals before federal and state appellate courts. He has gained substantial experience in representing corporate clients in seeking business interruption coverage for losses due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in some of the most highly visible and largest claims throughout the country.

Mr. Huggins enjoys representing pro bono clients regarding a wide range of legal needs, which have included seeking asylum on behalf of a family from El Salvador, obtaining VA benefits for a decorated Vietnam veteran, and currently, representing an incarcerated individual in his civil rights action against California prison officials concerning their deliberate indifference to his serious medical needs.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Huggins served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California. While in law school, he served as a judicial extern in the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
