    Marine Dewaele advises on a broad range of competition issues, with a particular focus on multijurisdictional merger control (including behavioral and structural remedies), assisting clients in relation to proceedings before the European Commission, as well as national and regional authorities across the globe.

    Ms. Dewaele’s practice covers a range of business sectors, including chemicals, oil and gas, consumer goods (including food), life sciences, media, and healthcare, catering to both industry players, and private equity firms.

    Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Dewaele worked as an associate in the competition practice group of another top tier law firm, in their Paris, Brussels, and London offices.

    Experience

    Ms. Dewaele’s experience includes advising:

    • Agility in relation to the US$4.1 billion sale of its global freight and contract logistics business to DSV Panalpina A/S
    • Global specialty chemicals and equipment company Atotech and its PE parent company Carlyle in the planned US$6.5 billion sale of Atotech to MKS 
    • Bridgepoint and Summit Partners in the US$3.75 billion sale of Calypso to Thoma Bravo
    • Energizer on its acquisition of Varta’s global battery and lighting products business, and the subsequent divestment of the European Varta business to Varta AG* 
    • ENI in relation to its acquisition of a 20% equity interest in ADNOC Refining and the set up of a related trading joint venture with ADNOC and OMV*
    • ENI in relation to the sale of a 25% interest in Mozambique Area 4 liquefied natural gas project to ExxonMobil*
    • Scripps Networks Interactive in relation to its US$14.6 billion acquisition by Discovery Communications*
    • NKT Cables on its €836 million acquisition of ABB’s high voltage cables and accessories business*
