Lara Nonninger is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins. She is a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial Department and the Privacy & Cyber Practice.

Ms. Nonninger has a broad practice, focusing on complex commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, contentious data privacy matters, and cyber incident response, advising clients across a range of industries and sectors.

Ms. Nonninger is passionate about her pro bono work, which has most recently included an analysis of the efficacy of rectifying miscarriages of justice in the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. Nonninger trained and practiced at a US law firm in London. Before that, she worked at a think tank focused on international security issues and financial inclusion matters.

While attending King's College London, she received the Simon O'Dwyer Russell prize for academic distinction in the War Studies department.

Ms. Nonninger’s experience includes advising:

  • An English football club on compliance with domestic and international football rules and regulations
  • Meta (previously Facebook) in various multijurisdictional data protection regulatory inquiries
  • An international charity in ransomware attack affecting thousands of individuals and coordinating response to regulatory investigations*
  • An e-commerce platform in a cyberattack involving theft of hundreds of thousands of records, including ensuing notifications to and engagement with regulators and individuals in Europe, Asia, and Africa*
  • A technology company in pursuing a claim against cyber attackers that led to the misappropriation of funds*
