Joseph Simei is counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Corporate Department. Mr. Simei has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions and routinely represents private equity firms and public and private companies in complex, cross-border transactions. Mr. Simei has developed particular expertise in acquisitions, divestitures and financings on behalf of private equity firms and other leveraged buyout sponsors, as well as firms in the aerospace, defense, healthcare, automotive, communications and technology industries.

Prior to joining Latham in 1998, Mr. Simei served as a submarine warfare officer in the United States Navy. He served on three submarines and on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations. From May 2006 until August 2007, Mr. Simei was a Special Counsel at another major law firm.
