Joe Denker is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins. He is a member of the Tax Department and the Global Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits Practice. Mr. Denker’s experience includes advising public and private companies and private equity funds on:

  • Employee benefits and executive compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions, financings, initial public offers, and other corporate transactions
  • Drafting and negotiating employment, separation, and change in control agreements and arrangements
  • Designing and implementing equity and other incentive compensation plans and arrangements
  • Preparing disclosure materials for proxy statements and other securities filings

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Denker was an associate in the Executive Compensation practice of another leading law firm, where he advised private equity funds on tax and corporate law issues related to executive compensation and employee benefits matters. Mr. Denker earned his JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as a managing editor of The Georgetown Journal of Gender & the Law. While attending law school, Mr. Denker also represented low-income tenants in D.C. Superior Court as a student attorney in Georgetown’s Housing Advocacy and Litigation Clinic.
