Isaac Maron is a counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the firm’s Tax Department and Project Development & Finance Practice.

Mr. Maron advises clients on all tax aspects of the development, financing, and acquisition of renewable energy assets. His clients include project developers, large financial institutions acting as investors and lenders, and private equity and infrastructure funds.

He focuses on transactions involving renewable energy assets and the monetization of tax credits and other tax incentives, including project development, tax equity and debt financings, joint venture arrangements, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Maron’s representative experience includes advising:

  • Project developer on the construction loan, tax equity commitment, back-leverage commitment, tax equity bridge financing, and power hedge arrangements for a Texas wind project
  • Solar developer on the acquisition of a portfolio of operating solar projects and co-development arrangements for further project acquisition, development, and finance
  • Lenders in a debt financing aggregation facility secured by a revolving portfolio of solar energy projects, many of which are jointly owned by third-party fund investors
  • Leading financial institution in connection with its establishment of a joint venture with a solar power developer to source, acquire, and develop utility scale solar photovoltaic projects
  • Leading global investor in infrastructure in its acquisition of a portion of the equity interests in a renewable energy company
  • Solar developer on the sale to various pension funds of ownership interests in certain solar projects
  • Leading insurance company on its acquisition of a minority interest in a commercial renewable energy portfolio, consisting of 1.2 GW of wind, solar and battery storage assets
  • Infrastructure fund on the acquisition of a 33 MW portfolio of commercial and industrial solar projects portfolio
  • Tax equity investors in the approximately 300 MW Ranchero wind power generation facility in Texas
  • Tax equity investors in the Moapa Solar project, a 250 MW AC photovoltaic solar project in Nevada
  • Tax equity investors on a structured equity investment commitment in a portfolio of rooftop and carport PV solar projects in California
