Gregory Mortenson is an associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department. Mr. Mortenson has a diverse practice, with an emphasis on securities litigation, complex commercial litigation, and internal and regulatory investigations. He has litigated in both federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels around the country, on behalf of a diverse roster of clients. His wide-ranging experience encompasses everything from pre-dispute litigation avoidance through post-trial, framed by his vigorous yet pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

Mr. Mortenson also brings to bear relevant in-house experience from a secondment at a global financial services institution. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mortenson served as a judicial law clerk in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, during which he received the Clarkson S. Fisher Historical Society Essay Award.

Mr. Mortenson attended the Seton Hall University School of Law on a full Presidential Merit Scholarship and served as editor-in-chief of Volume 43 for the Seton Hall Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude and was conferred the Order of the Coif. Mr. Mortenson attended Georgetown University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
