Erin McKirdy is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins, and a member of the firm’s Executive Compensation, Employment & Benefits Practice.

Ms. McKirdy advises both public and private companies across all areas of employment, remuneration, and incentives matters, particularly in the context of corporate transactions.

In addition to transactional work, Ms. McKirdy advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, including reduction-in-force exercises, restrictive covenants, disciplinary matters, recruitment, and severance. 

Ms. McKirdy maintains an active pro bono practice, supporting a range of charities with employment advisory assistance.

Prior to joining Latham, Ms. McKirdy practiced at a leading global law firm, based in their offices in Scotland.

She is a member of the UK Employment Lawyers Association and Share Plan Lawyers Group.

Ms. McKirdy's experience includes advising:

  • Block M Shareholders on the sale of a 50.03% stake in Lightsource bp, a UK-based developer and operator of solar power plants, to BP plc
  • Tapesty, Inc. on the US$8.5 billion acquisition of Capri Holdings
  • Ericsson on its acquisition of Ericom, a cyber-security company
  • Norgine, a European specialty pharmaceutical company, on the sale of a controlling stake to Goldman Sachs Asset Management
  • Various clients in defending employment related claims in the UK Employment Tribunal, including in relation to discrimination and whistleblowing matters*
