Emma Skelton is an associate in the Bay Area offices of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Privacy & Cyber Practice.

Ms. Skelton regularly helps companies navigate the evolving landscape of US privacy law by advising on data and security issues, and assessing key legal and regulatory compliance risks. Additionally, she assists with the creation and implementation of privacy policies and programs, and incident response frameworks.

Ms. Skelton also regularly handles complex data privacy regulatory investigations, including those initiated by the Federal Trade Commission and States Attorneys General.

Ms. Skelton engages in a substantial amount of pro bono work, including representing unaccompanied immigrant children fleeing violence and persecution in their home countries; representing Afghan nationals facing persistent threats for their collaboration with the United States in their petitions for Special Immigrant Visa (SIV); and representing veterans before the Army Discharge Review Board to upgrade their characterization of service and allow them to obtain increased benefits.
