Andrew Evans advises owners, financiers and contractors on a variety of transactions, with a particular emphasis on energy, infrastructure, and resources projects.

Mr. Evans has experience counseling clients on greenfields project development, financing and implementation, offtake arrangements, joint ventures, and the acquisition and sale of energy assets and businesses. He also has a strong interest in decarbonization and the renewable energy transition.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Evans worked as an associate at top law firms in Australia and the US.

Mr. Evans’ experience includes:

  • Represented Macquarie Capital and project companies on the project development of the 228 megawatt (MW) Lal Lal Wind Farms in Victoria’s Central Highlands.*
  • Advised a bidder during a competitive equity sale process for a stake in the holding company of the owner and developer of the 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind farm in Taiwan.*
  • Represented Goldwind, PowerChina, and Wild Cattle Hill Pty Ltd on the A$208m (US$147.6m) construction, offtake, and project financing of the 150 MW Cattle Hill Wind Farm, Tasmania, Australia.*
  • Represented Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology on the project development of the 150 MW Moorabool North Wind Farm located in Moorabool Shire, Western Victoria, Australia.*
  • Represented Brookfield Infrastructure Group (Australia) in connection with the proposed sale of Enwave Australia Holdings (together with its subsidiary entities). Enwave is an Australian company that owns and operates water, gas (as distributor and retailer), energy network, and infrastructure assets throughout Australia.*
  • Represented Transurban (during a six-month secondment) on matters arising from the West Gate Tunnel Project.*
  • Advised a large renewable project developer and owner on its power purchase and renewable energy credit supply agreements.*
  • Advised financiers to the largest Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Australia, and the first PPP in the market to feature alliance contracting principles — the A$11.1 billion North East Link PPP in Victoria.*
  • Advised Bridgelink Power on a senior secured revolving credit facility for up to US$200 million with Crayhill Capital Management. The facility will be utilized to fund pre-construction project expenses, including equipment procurement and other long-lead items and to strategically acquire additional pre-construction projects.*
  • Advised Korea Electric Power Company on its tax equity partnership with Foss & Company in relation to the Mangilao Solar Project — a 60 MW AC solar photovoltaic power plant with a 32 MW / 32 MWh energy storage system.*
  • Advised Nautilus Solar Energy, LLC, on behalf of its affiliate Nautilus US Power Holdco, LLC, on matters related to the financing of community solar projects across Colorado, Maine, Maryland, and Minnesota.*
  • Advised a large US-based solar developer and owner on the negotiation and drafting of a number of Module Supply Agreements.*
  • Advised Luminace (a subsidiary of Brookfield Renewable Partners LLP) on the negotiation of EPC Contracts and related agreements for New Jersey solar projects.*
  • Advised a bidder on its potential bid for a stake in an upcoming offshore wind project in Taiwan.*
