Alex Ford-Cox is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Data & Technology Transactions Practice.

Mr. Ford-Cox advises clients in respect of multinational privacy, data protection, and platforms matters, including in respect of the UK and EU GDPR, marketing laws, and the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act.

Mr. Ford-Cox has a particular interests in marketing and ad-tech matters and has advised in respect of complex digital advertising matters including in relation to regulatory engagement. Mr. Ford-Cox also has extensive experience in the developing area of luxury law and interests in IoT and automotive matters.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Ford-Cox practiced in the privacy and cybersecurity team of a leading firm in London.

His experience includes:

  • Advice in respect of application of DMA and DSA to multinational technology and entertainment company
  • Advice to multinational retailer in respect of deployment of cookies
  • Complex multijurisdictional data sharing and exploitation transaction for automotive client*
  • Advice to publishing and mass media client in relation to use of biometric data in context of assessment monitoring and ID verification*
  • Strategic advice to leading US multinational investment bank with respect to data incident resulting from bad actor intrusion*
  • Coordination and preparation of advice to leading technology company with respect to COVID-19 testing and temperature screening including multijurisdictional assessment of legality of activities*
