Jay Sadanandan earns recognition for her roles on major financing deals in 2023.

Financial News has named Latham partner Jay Sadanandan to its Top 10 EMEA Finance Lawyers list, according to data from Mergerlinks. The list ranks the 10 leading lawyers in EMEA last year by deal value.

Sadanandan is a member of Latham's market-leading Banking Practice and she has extensive experience advising sponsors, companies, borrowers, financial institutions, and lenders on a wide range of transactions, including complex cross-border acquisition and leveraged financings, asset-based loans, bridge financings, investment grade loans, post-IPO facilities, and other secured lending transactions.

Notable deals Sadanandan advised on in 2023 include representing:

  • A consortium, led by Blackstone and Permira, on the landmark private credit loan financing for the acquisition of Adevinta, the world’s largest online classified advertising business. The transaction is one of the largest European buyouts announced in 2023, with a transaction value of approx. €14 billion.
  • Partners Group on the financing for its acquisition of Rosen Group, a global provider of mission-critical inspection services for energy infrastructure assets.
  • Permira on the financing for its acquisition of Gruppo Florence, a leading Italian manufacturer of textiles for the international luxury sector.

Speaking to Financial News about the leveraged finance market, Sadanandan commented: “The private credit market stepped up to fill the gap in the syndicated market and it was able to deliver liquidity and financing certainty at a time of significant market uncertainty. If sponsors and borrowers can get better pricing and terms in the syndicated market, it will become an attractive option again, although the private credit market will continue to play an important role in leveraged financings.”
