Latham Honored in 17th Annual Innovations in Diversity Awards

December 16, 2020
Profiles in Diversity Journal recognized Latham with an Award of Excellence for the firm’s Allies@Latham initiative.

In its 17th Annual Innovations in Diversity Awards, Profiles in Diversity Journal bestowed an Award of Excellence for Latham’s Allies@Latham initiative. The annual competition honors corporations, organizations, and institutions that have developed innovative solutions in the areas of workforce diversity, inclusion, and human equity. Launched this summer, Allies@Latham is a firmwide initiative to strengthen Latham’s culture of inclusion and belonging by equipping everyone with the tools to serve as better allies for others, including our traditionally underrepresented colleagues.

Latham’s focus on allyship has resulted in:

  • Numerous “courageous conversations” around the firm, which provide safe spaces for colleagues to share their personal experiences with racism and inequity and for allies to listen and learn.
  • Broad engagement in our diversity and racial justice speaker series, with more than 1,600 attendees, including over 550 clients, attending our first six events.
  • A new podcast series, targeting law students and produced with Chambers Associates, on “How to be an Effective Ally.”

Latham is committed to making inclusion and belonging defining features of our culture, in the same way that the firm is recognized for our exceptional client service and extensive pro bono legal services.
