Latham partners Joseph Calabrese, Kenneth Deutsch, and Marvin Putnam have been named 2019 Power Lawyers by The Hollywood Reporter (THR) in the entertainment industry publication’s 13th annual review of attorneys advising on high-profile deals and disputes.
Calabrese and Deutsch are transactional partners and Putnam is a litigation and trial partner in Latham’s global Entertainment, Sports & Media (ESM) Practice. Each have been named multiple times to the annual Power Lawyers list.
Calabrese, Global Chair of the ESM Practice, was profiled as “a go-to lawyer when it comes to live-TV rights, having negotiated an eight-year pact on behalf of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association with Dick Clark Productions and NBC to broadcast the Golden Globes through 2026.”
Deutsch also earned a “go-to adviser” moniker for his advice to clients such as A24, Macro, MGM, and Netflix to “help structure complex film financing and co-production transactions.”
Putnam, Chair of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice in Los Angeles, was cited for his role in various lawsuits stemming from Harvey Weinstein’s predatory behavior, as well as in ongoing negotiations between talent agents and the Writers Guild.
