Mr. Settelmayer has been a leading advisor to both nonprofit and investor owned health systems and provider organizations, many of which have been long-standing clients. His practice is national in scope. Mr. Settelmayer has experience in a wide variety of capital markets transactions and has served as lead counsel in a broad range of healthcare provider transactions, including:
- Formation of care management organizations – e.g., HMOs, ACOs, IPAs, CINs, D2E, and other provider networks
- Structuring provider joint ventures
- Mergers, acquisitions and affiliations involving health facilities, medical groups, MCOs, and ancillary service providers
In connection with his transactional practice and general representation of healthcare industry clients, Mr. Settelmayer also handles a wide range of regulatory matters, including:
- Facility, provider, and HMO licensing
- Fraud and abuse

Mr. Settelmayer is the principal architect of ComplianceNet, the firm's internet-based compliance program for healthcare systems, which automates the development of comprehensive transaction databases and facilitates transaction review, audit, and diligence support.
