Diversity Leadership Academy
Our award-winning Diversity Leadership Academy is a multi-day professional development program for law students and our mid-level associates who self-identify as a member of an underrepresented group or otherwise have a strong interest in diversity and inclusion. Separate training programs are organized, with overlapping networking activities for all attendees. Learn more about the Diversity Leadership Academy.
1L Diversity Scholars
Our 1L Diversity Scholarship program provides first year law students with in-depth legal training, mentoring, and real-world experience throughout Latham’s ten-week summer program. We partner with organizations such as JD Advising, Pipeline to Practice, PracticePro, and LEAP, to provide coaching, training, and other experiences for 1L students.
2L Diversity Scholars
Our 2L Diversity Scholarship program provides in-depth legal training, mentoring, and real-work experience, along with a $50,000 scholarship, and an enrichment experience that includes one of the following: client in-house rotation, pro bono work, international placement, or a special interest project. To build a more inclusive legal community Latham has doubled the 2L diversity scholarship amount, from $25,000 to $50,000, and has significantly increased, from 40 to 50, the number of 2L diversity scholarships awarded for the 2022 summer program.
We partner with organizations such as Thrive Scholars, Cristo Rey Interns, NYC Bar Thurgood Marshall Internship, and SEO Law Catalyst, to support and encourage first-generation, underrepresented high school students to pursue a career in law.
