Thies Deike is a counsel in the firm’s Corporate Department. His practice focuses on information technology, outsourcing, telecommunications, e-commerce and digital media. Mr. Deike's expertise includes:

  • IT, outsourcing and other technology-related projects
  • Commercial transactions, including complex technology-related and general commercial contracts

  • Joint ventures and transitional service arrangements in the context of M&A, private equity and other transactions

He assists clients with drafting and negotiating related contracts and advises them on commercial, IT and IP matters in the context of M&A, PE and other transactions.

  • Commercial and IT/IP matters as well as transitional service arrangements in connection with numerous joint venture, M&A and PE projects, including advising Hellman & Friedman on the acquisition of a 70% stake in Scout24 Group, Apollo on the acquisition of KBC Bank Deutschland AG, Mediq on the acquisition of assist GmbH, Expedia on the acquisition of Auto Escape (provider of car rental services) and on the acquisition of Besser Betreut GmbH
  • Licensing and implementation of core banking systems for major international banks
  • Software licensing, source code escrow, IP security assignments and open source licenses in various industries
  • Drafting and negotiation of numerous sales and supply agreements in various industries
  • Drafting of numerous standard terms and conditions in various industries, including online services, IT and cloud services, solar industry, biotech, travel
  • Advice on distance selling, standard contract terms and other consumer protection laws
  • Marketing co-operations, distribution and agency agreements as well as advice regarding liability and potential compensation claims in several industries
