Jakob Baldes is an associate in the Corporate Department of Latham & Watkins' Düsseldorf office.

Jakob advises German and international companies and financial investors on M&A and private equity transactions, restructurings, and general corporate law. He counsels clients from a wide range of industries, including:

  • Energy and infrastructure
  • Healthcare services and providers

Prior to joining Latham as an associate, Jakob worked as a law clerk in Latham’s Corporate Department in Düsseldorf and gained experience working as an academic assistant in the Bonn office of a major German law firm. He also worked for the Federal Audit Office (Bundesrechnungshof).

Jakob’s experience includes advising:

  • Antin Infrastructure Partners on the acquisition of a majority stake in Blue Elephant Energy AG
  • Digital Transformation Capital Partners (DTCP) on the acquisition of majority shareholding in maincubes
  • Fresenius on the sale of the majority of Vamed’s rehabilitation business to PAI Partners
  • HARPS Global Pte. Ltd., a Southeast Asian medical glove producer, on the acquisition of Semperit AG Holding’s medical business, Sempermed
  • KKR on its strategic partnership with Encavis AG
  • Shift4 on the acquisition of Finaro, a cross-border eCommerce payments provider
  • Triton on the acquisition of Trench
