Steve Ahn is a corporate associate in the New York office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practices.

Mr. Ahn advises companies and private equity firms across a range of industries in domestic and cross-border transactions, including:

  • Public and private acquisitions
  • Dispositions
  • Co-investments
  • Joint ventures
  • Carve-outs
  • General corporate matters, including corporate governance and activism defense

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Ahn was a mergers and acquisitions associate in the New York office of another leading international law firm.

While in law school, Mr. Ahn served as articles editor for the Cornell Law Review and authored an article in the Dispute Resolution Journal on U.S. arbitration practices within the National Football League.

Mr. Ahn maintains an active pro bono practice, representing nonprofit organizations and individuals on general corporate and asylum matters, respectively.

  • Anixter International, a global distributor of network, security, electronic, and utility power solutions, in its agreement to be acquired by an affiliate of Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for approximately US$3.8 billion, and in the successful US$4.5 billion sale of Anixter to WESCO International pursuant to a superior proposal*
  • The Navigators Group, a global insurance company, in its US$2.1 billion sale to The Hartford Financial Services Group*
  • Starwood Property Trust in its US$2.56 billion acquisition of GE’s Energy Financial Services’ Project Finance Debt Business and loan portfolio*
  • Guggenheim Securities, as financial advisor to KeyW, in connection with the US$815 million acquisition of KeyW*
  • Leucadia National Corporation in its creation of a joint global fundamental equities business with Schonfeld Strategic Advisors*
