Steve Shashy is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham and Watkins. He focuses his practice primarily on taxation, including both controversy and transactional matters, and has experience in a variety of stages of complex litigation.
Mr. Shashy also maintains an active pro bono practice, in which he has represented clients on issues of juvenile criminal justice, juvenile immigration and asylum, and federal civil rights.
Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Shashy earned his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief for the Virginia Tax Review and was a member of the school’s Criminal Defense Clinic. In his graduating year, Mr. Shashy was honored with the Edwin S. Cohen Tax Prize for outstanding scholarship in the field of taxation.
