Michael Weaver retired from the partnership in April 2012. Prior to his retirement, Mike was a partner in the Litigation Department in the San Diego office and specialized in complex business litigation and trial practice. He has significant experience including trials to verdict and appeals in state and federal courts, before various administrative tribunals and arbitrations on matters involving class and derivative actions, securities fraud, RICO, bank litigation, lender liability, antitrust, defamation, unfair competition, business torts, fiduciary duty matters, wrongful termination, partnership and corporate dissolution, product defect litigation, real property matters, contract and UCC disputes, directors and officers liability, intellectual property and legal, accounting and other professional malpractice, errors and omissions.

His clients included corporations, accounting firms, prominent lawyers and law firms, as well as clients in the aerospace, hi-tech and professional sports industries. He represented numerous individuals and families on a host of personal claims and defenses.

Mr. Weaver was a member of the Executive Committee and Master of the Bench of the Inn, American Inns of Court, Louis M. Welsh Chapter, and was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the San Diego Association of Business Trial Lawyers. At the time of his retirement, he was a member of the American Arbitration Association, International Center for Dispute Resolution, Panel of Arbitrators, and Fellow in the American College of Commercial Arbitrators.

Mr. Weaver was a member of the Complex Litigation Committee and Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, as well as member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Fellowships are by invitation, extended only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skills as advocates and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism and civility.
