Jérôme de Ponsay is an associate in the Brussels office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Global Antitrust & Competition Practice.

Mr. de Ponsay advises clients in all areas of European competition law, with specific experience in multijurisdictional merger control filings, behavioral cases, as well as regulatory issues.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. de Ponsay worked as an associate in the Brussels office of a leading international law firm. He was also a trainee in the Brussels and Paris offices of various leading international law firms and the Director General for Competition at the European Commission.

  • GRAIL in the European Commission’s review of its acquisition by Illumina, a landmark case concerning application of the referral powers under Article 22 of the EU Merger Regulation and associated gun-jumping, restorative measures investigations and litigation before the General Court and Court of Justice in Luxembourg
  • Agility Public Warehousing Co. in obtaining unconditional global merger and FDI clearance in 15+ jurisdictions for the US$4.1 billion sale of Agility's Global Integrated Business to DSV Panalpina, a transport and logistics company
  • A multinational technology company in connection with the European Commission’s Digital Markets Act Proposal 
  • A multinational technology company in connection with the European Commission's investigation into its use of third party sellers' data*
  • A multinational technology company in connection to the European Commission's inquiry into the Internet of Things sector*
  • A multinational technology company in its acquisition of a stake in Deliveroo, which was approved after a full Phase II investigation before the UK CMA*  
  • A multinational technology company in relation to a number of requests for information received from national competition authorities/the EC* 
  • A technology company in a transaction in the video game industry approved after a Phase I before the European Commission*
  • A leading media company in a transaction approved conditionally by the European Commission after a Phase I investigation*    
  • A major telecom company in its acquisition of a digital company approved unconditionally by the European Commission*
  • A client in the transport sector in an Article 101 complaint before the European Commission*
  • A bio-tech company subject to an investigation by the European Commission under Articles 101 and 102 in relation to licensing practices*
