Cindy Guan is an associate in the San Francisco office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm's Litigation & Trial Department. 

Ms. Guan represents global public and private companies, senior officers, and directors in all stages of securities and complex commercial litigation, including pre-litigation and product counseling. These companies span numerous industries, including technology, cryptocurrency, consumer retail, software, semiconductors, and financial services. 

While at Latham, Ms. Guan was seconded to a global technology client’s litigation team. 

As part of Ms. Guan’s active pro bono practice, she has successfully reduced a client's criminal sentence, eliminated another client’s bail bond debt, and advised non-profits in policy and advocacy work regarding access to justice issues. 

Ms. Guan previously served as member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee and has led the San Francisco Asian & Middle Eastern Lawyers Group.

In law school, Ms. Guan served as senior editor and submissions editor of the Harvard Business Law Review and served as co-president of Harvard’s Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. She also externed with the Massachusetts US Attorney’s Office, the Department of Justice, and represented clients as a S.J.C Rule 3:03 student attorney at the Harvard Legal Services Center. 

Ms. Guan’s experiences includes representing: 

  • Companies in the cryptocurrency space in various securities class actions in state and federal court
  • A large ride-sharing company and its senior executives and directors in parallel federal and state securities class action related to its IPO
  • A Big Four accounting firm in connection with putative securities class action and five separate “mass actions” in state and federal courts
  • One of the nation’s largest fitness companies in connection with various consumer class actions alleging various statutory and common law claims
  • A technology company in the digital advertising space in a complex contractual dispute
  • A multinational consumer electronics company in data privacy product counseling matters
