Calum Warren is an associate in the Litigation Department of Latham & Watkins and a member of the global Antitrust and Competition Practice in London. Mr. Warren represents clients in complex multi-jurisdictional merger control proceedings and antitrust investigations in a broad range of business sectors, notably FMCG, media and technology, oil & gas and chemicals, aviation, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices.

Prior to joining Latham & Watkins, Mr. Warren worked at another international law firm in Brussels and also completed a traineeship at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission.

Merger control matters
  • Acting for Microsoft Corporation on its acquisition of LinkedIn. Helped secure Phase 1 conditional clearance in the EU
  • Acting for Hytera Communications Corporation Limited in relation to its acquisition of UK-based digital radio products manufacturer, Sepura Group PLC
  • Acting for Equate Petrochemical Company in multijurisdictional merger control proceedings in respect of its acquisition of MEGlobal. Helped secure Phase I unconditional clearances in US, Canada, and Mexico
  • Advising GTCR in merger control proceedings before the UK Competition and Markets Authority in respect of its acquisition of Gorkana Group. Helped secure Phase I clearance with divestiture undertakings
  • Advising a multinational chemicals company in merger control proceedings before the European Commission in respect of the sale of one of its businesses. Helped secure Phase I clearance with divestiture undertakings*
  • Acting for Coopervision in merger control proceedings before the UK Competition and Markets Authority in respect of its acquisition of Sauflon Pharmaceuticals. Helped secure Phase I unconditional clearance
  • Acting for an aircraft manufacturing company in respect of its establishment of a MRO joint venture. Helped secure unconditional clearances in multiple jurisdictions*
Antitrust matters
  • Advising a global advertising company in an antitrust investigation by a European national competition authority
  • Assisting with dawn raid simulation and competition law compliance training in multiple jurisdictions for a client in the FMCG sector
  • Acting for an insurance conglomerate on the establishment and operation of a joint venture in the UK with an industry partner
  • Assisting with the appeal against an EU cartel decision by a Japanese conglomerate before the EU General Court. Helped secure partial annulment of decision resulting in reduction of fines by approx. €28 million*
  • Assisting in the representation of a client in the FMCG sector as an intervener in an abuse of dominance investigation by the Hellenic Competition Commission*
