Alexandra Van Dine is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.
Ms. Van Dine advises clients on government and internal investigations and enforcement actions. She also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing wrongfully convicted individuals in federal habeas and state postconviction proceedings. She also successfully obtained release for a client under the District of Columbia’s Incarceration Reduction Amendment Act.
Prior to joining Latham full-time, Ms. Van Dine was a summer associate in the Washington, D.C. office and held a legal internship with the Federal Public Defender in Boston.
While attending law school at the University of Chicago, Ms. Van Dine worked in the Federal Criminal Justice and Exoneration Project clinics and served as articles editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law. She also co-directed the Law School Musical.
Prior to law school, Ms. Van Dine worked in nuclear security policy. She was a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow and earned her BSFS in International Politics from Georgetown University. At Georgetown, she wrote an honors thesis and won the J. Raymond Trainor award for outstanding academic attainment in International Politics.
