John P. McLoughlin

John P. McLoughlin retired from Partnership on December 31, 1996. Mr. McLoughlin had practiced law with the firm since 1962 and from 1992-1996 served on the firm's Executive Committee.

Based out of the Los Angeles office, he focused his practice on corporate friendly and unfriendly acquisitions and dispositions and leveraged buyouts. He was involved in over 35 leveraged buyouts by KKR since its formation in 1976 and its predecessors at Bear Stearns from 1971 to 1976 as well as the KKR investments in Texaco, Kroger and others. He has been involved in numerous acquisitions, dispositions, public offerings and other financings with other companies and investment bankers. In addition, he has represented special committees of boards of directors in acquisitions, divestitures and other transactions.

Mr. McLoughlin has served as a panelist on LBOs and other corporate subjects for the Practising Law Institute and other bar groups.
