Georgie Blears is an associate in the London office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Trial Department.

Ms. Blears has a broad practice within commercial litigation and has acted for clients in a range of high profile and value cases before the English High Court, Court of Appeal, and judicial review proceedings before the Administrative Court.

Ms. Blears completed her training in Latham's Corporate, Finance, and Tax Departments, qualifying her to enter into the Litigation & Trial Department in August of 2021.

Ms. Blears maintains an active pro bono practice and was most recently involved in producing a cross-border research project for the Centre for Women’s Justice and representing a client before the English social security tribunals.

While attending the University of Edinburgh, she was awarded the Annabella Kirkpatrick Prize scholarship for being the most distinguished graduate of her year in MA History.

Ms. Blears’ experience includes advising:

  • An international energy company in a climate change focused judicial review involving a significant energy project in sub-Saharan Africa
  • One of the world’s largest financial exchanges defending a series of breach of warranty claims by the purchaser of a voice broking business 
  • A leading global investment bank into an investigation by the PRA regarding regulatory reporting failures
  • A high-net-worth individual, the claimant, in litigation worth more than £100 million concerning a superyacht
