Two Litigators Honored Among Top 100 Lawyers In California

September 23, 2019
Partners Marvin Putnam and Peter Wald selected to the Daily Journal’s most prestigious attorney listing.

Latham litigators are again being recognized as champions of their clients and the law, as Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Litigation & Trial Department Marvin Putnam, and San Francisco-based former Global Chair of the Litigation & Trial Department Peter Wald, were named to the Daily Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers in California honor roll. The list annually spotlights California-based attorneys “who have an impact – on an industry or on the larger society.”

In his profile, Putnam was honored for his exceptional combination of litigation experience as well as keen insight on the entertainment and media industry. The Daily Journal praised his work representing Miramax and former Weinstein Co. board member Tim Sarnoff in US-based Harvey Weinstein-related litigation as well as representing singer-songwriter Johnny Mathis in a negligence dispute that has reached the California Supreme Court.

For Wald, the Daily Journal’s profile focused on his unmatched record of excellence and consistency in winning “bet the company” cases for US-based and international clients in federal, state, and appellate courts across the country. Wald’s critical victories secured on behalf of Wal-Mart de México and Daimler AG were specifically cited as illustrations of his stellar legal accomplishments.

Both Putnam and Wald have previously been named to the Daily Journal Top 100 Lawyers in California list.
