New York Partner Honored in Global Restructuring Review 40 Under 40 List

April 8, 2022
George Klidonas was selected as a “rising star” in restructuring and insolvency from hundreds of international nominees.

Global Restructuring Review (GRR), a trusted source of worldwide news and analysis for restructuring and insolvency practitioners, has selected New York partner George Klidonas for its GRR 40 under 40 2022. The list represents a cross-section of the “best young cross-border restructuring specialists in the world.”

As a member of the firm’s Restructuring & Special Situations Practice, Klidonas assists privately and publicly held companies, creditors, distressed investors, and private equity sponsors in navigating complex matters, specializing in liability management transactions, recapitalizations, in- and out-of-court restructurings, and special situations. He also advises boards of directors, board committees, and senior management of financially-troubled companies on a range of issues, including fiduciary duties and corporate governance.

In his published GRR profile, standout work highlighted was his role advising on the US$5.3 billion cross-border restructuring of pharmaceutical manufacturer Mallinckrodt. Klidonas said it was “extremely complex and at the intersection of mass tort, antitrust, and bankruptcy law” requiring filing for both US Chapter 11 and Irish insolvency proceedings.

The 2022 list featured rising stars – chosen from hundreds of applications based on months of research and multiple rounds of interviews – from 20 different jurisdictions and 23 cities across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East to reflect the diversity of the regional and international business centers that cross-border restructurings and insolvencies often intersect and the people who advise on and participate in them.
